Henry was a merchant in the low countries, who held property to the West of the City of London, and at Lock's Farm outside Wokingham in Berkshire.

The Compendium of American Genealogy, Volume 7, page 201, states that John came to Portsmouth Rhode Island from England, at the age of 14.
The Representative Men and Old Families of Rhode Island by J. H. Beers Co., Chicago 1908 Orlando Public Library RD 9854.5 pg. 2163 has this to say about John Albro, he came to America in 1634, onboard the ship Francis, from Ipswich, England, under the care of William Freeborn, with whom he immigrated to RI in 1638, residing in Portsmouth. He became a prominent man in the public affairs of the town and colony.
In 1644 he was a corporal and eventually attained the rank of major. He served in King Philips War.
For 1649 he was clerk of weights and measures, He served as commissioner in 1660 and 1662. In 1655 he was listed as Freeman in Rhode Island. He married Dorothy, the widow of Nathaniel Potter. Their children were Samuel, b. 1644, Elizabeth, Mary, John and Susanna. She died in 1696, he died in 1712. He is buried in his own orchard, at Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island
Their daughter Susanna married John ANTHONY, who's family is connected to my paternal side, through the OLMSTEADS.
His will was dated Dec 1710.
