John Woodcock arrived in New Amsterdam, New York between 1680 or 1690.He then aquired land south east of Albany, at Kinderhook New York.
He served as a soldier from November 1, 1697 to May 1, 1698 in Albany, and later from October 24, 1713 to December 24, 1713 in the Grenadiers.
"Records of theReformed Dutch Church of Albany, New York", part 2, page 2, list a marriage record for John and Arriantje "May 3 Registered with the consent of Captain Bennet. John Woodcock, y.m. born in Yorkshire, Old England, and Ariaantje Gardeniers, y. d.,born at Kinderhook. Married May 19 in the Church at Kinderhook."
John is listed in the Register of the Reformed Dutch Church, dated March 28, 1729, as a member. Also listed is Everd Whieler, husband of Maria Woodcock (this may be important to Lea's husband) see below.
